Isabella Garcés Vela

Hey there!

Isabella Garcés Vela is from Mexico City, Mexico. She is based in Muncie, Indiana, where she is a senior at Ball State University studying Musical Theatre with a minor in psychology (expected class of 2025) and she recently completed a wellness coach certification. In her time at Ball State she performed in Sonnets for an Old Century (Cordelia Gonzales & others), Cabaret (Fraulein Kost), The Prom (Ensemble), A Midsummer Night’s Dream (Musician), and was an understudy for The Moors (Marjory/Mallory and Hundey). She is a strong advocate for diversity and inclusion in all the things she does and she is an active participant of Artists for Inclusivity, the Student Advisory Committee, and the Latiné Student Union as well as the acapella group Sedoctave.

As a performer, her mission is to spark meaningful conversations and inspire social change through the power of storytelling. Isa aims to portray diverse characters that challenge norms and promote empathy, fostering a more inclusive and accepting industry. With authenticity and dedication, she strives to keep growing and learning from her own art form and to connect with audiences on a profound level, leaving a lasting impact that resonates with hearts and minds.

You can see Isa next on stage in her Ball State University’s 2024 Senior Showcase at the Mercury Theatre and Venus Cabaret in Chicago on December 9th, her senior capstone alongside her musical theatre class in If They Could See Us Now: A Celebration of Coleman, Herman, and Ball State’s MT Class of 2025 at The Cabaret in Indianapolis on January 17th and 18th and at Joe’s Pub in NYC on March 5th, or at Ball State University’s 2025 Senior Showcase at Theatre Row in NYC on March 4th.
